Which stone is the Right One for You?
Getting the right one is a question we get all the time...The first answer Elizabeth gives is "whichever one appeals to you". That is one of the right answers. However, if you are looking to accomplish something with the energy that the stone puts out, then there may be a little more to it. Elizabeth and I both work with clients to use the magnetism and current that is a natural part of the stone to best serve the needs of the person or organization asking for the help. Although, many times, we both come to the same answer we go at it in substantially different ways.
Elizabeth is a shaman and has studied with South American shaman, I am a tenth generation Apache stone man and was taught and bestowed my gifts of stone knowledge by my “actual” Grandmother. Elizabeth's approach is more intuitive and I see a connection between a stone and an individual (the same way that some people see auras). Neither approach is wrong, in fact, many times it is exactly the same.
So, How do you know which stone is right for you when the two of us aren't standing right next to you. First of all... attraction. Which stone is so cool you can not live without it? I have been attracted to a river edge while driving down the road, had to turn around in Vermont, and bent down at the rivers edge a pick up an agate that was there in the river. The same type of thing happened to Elizabeth 15 years ago concerning a large quartz cluster which launched her onto the path which began our company and her professional spiritual path. Most people aren't pulled off the road, but they can feel something when they are standing right in front of the stones... And maybe the feeling is “WOW... That's really cool!” As it relates to stones, 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'. The stone that to someone else is an ugly hunk is, to me, really cool.
If you have the cold or flu, you go to the doctor or pharmacist for a cure. That is what is called purpose driven. You need to find someone who is knowledgeable (like the doctor) about the stones and/or a strong sense of intuitions (like the pharmacist) to get you the right solution for your purpose. Elizabeth and I were at a show, when someone asked for a stone that would help the people to develop their psychic ability (general question) she handed them lapis lazuli, Then they said “So, this will help me develop my psychic ability (direct and personal) and she handed them a purplish golden crystal called Cacoxenite, which allowed them to open to the connections between the physical and the spiritual. Just like early pharmacist would combine a number of remedies to get you to your wellness, Elizabeth combined the general with the specific to help that individual. Speaking of doctors, I had a doctor friend in Everett, Washington who had a clinic that wasn't very therapeutic. It had become contaminated by the processes surrounding the insurance industry and HMO's and he wanted a new art piece to liven the place up. He didn't know that he was asking for a remedy, but I did. I took a flat (thick) wafer of Candle quartz (from Madagascar) a nearly clear piece of rose quartz (from Brazil), lit it like rain drops with strands of L.E.D.s set it all in a marble dish (like a soap dish with sides). Partly filled it with water and a pump to make the water move and put Buddhist chime bowl to float and move in the water. So, I made a compassion generator to cure the ills of his business.
There are other ways that people use to derive understanding and get the stones that they need. For example, muscle testing and the use of pendulums is an excellent way to get that extra information you may be looking for. However to get the best out of these techniques you must be able to hold your intention in your mind while you explore and examine the stones... Many times, while I'm working with a client out of town or someone that I haven't met yet. I'll use a pendulum to establish whether the stone is what they need. If you are using a pendulum to determine a stone... Then you shouldn't be using a stone pendulum, They will interact and may give you a skewed answer... Metal or plastic pendulums are best when the question is, which stone is best?
Muscle testing is done by holding the stone over your navel with the arm (you write with) extended out. Then while someone else pushes down on your arm, ask the question is this the right stone for me OR is this the right stone for me concerning ________ (this) “whatever this is “. If you are able to resist a modest amount of downward pressure from the person pushing down on your outstretched arm, then this is probably the right stone for you. From Tim Harris with Shaman's Dream
